Best Buy will begin selling Dell Inspiron and XPS notebooks at more than 900 U.S. stores over the next few weeks. It’s about time Dell established a serious retail presence, but the timing is really off. It would have been great for Dell and shoppers to have these notebooks on display for the entire holiday season.
Dell is late to the Best Buy table, as the retailer is already heavily promotes Toshiba, Apple, HP, Gateway, Acer, Asus and Lenovo notebooks. This move is better late than never and will benefit consumers by offering more choice.
“Seeing the latest fashion colors of our Inspiron and XPS notebooks or previewing the ultimate gaming experience on a high-performance system can be an important part of how people shop,” said Michael Tatelman, vice president of sales and marketing for Dell’s global consumer business. “In the next few weeks, people looking to upgrade to a Dell notebook or desktop in the U.S. can visit their local Best Buy to check out and purchase our award-winning line of products.”
This should do wonders for the Dell notebook lines, as some customers insist on touching and feeling a product, especially when ordering ...

Dell's XPS M1730 'World of Warcraft' Edition
(Credit: Dell)
Hot on heels of Dell's slim-and-snazzy XPS M1530 and the uberpowerful M1730, the company's latest high-end laptop is the XPS M1730 World of Warcraft Edition. Yes, it's basically the same 1730 we liked so much a couple of months ago, but this time it's dressed up in exclusive World of Warcraft designs on the wings, LCD back and hinge cover, with WoW original artwork desktop backgrounds and screensavers.
Naturally, there are Horde and Alliance version, and if you have no idea what we're talking about, that's probably a good thing. For your $4,499, you start with a 2.2GHz T7500 Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM, and SLI Nvidia 8700 graphics, and you can upgrade from there.
Also included are the retail versions of World of Warcraft and the Burning Crusades expansion (which you probably already have), a "Making of WoW" DVD, a selection of Warcraft novels (sorry, no Kindle versions), a soundtrack CD, and a package of Blizzard goodies, including an in-game pet and a coupon for a custom action figure based ...

We’ve seen a huge influx of users looking for info about all of the Black Friday notebook deals and wanted to answer some common questions. Here’s a list of things to consider before rushing into a big-box retailer and snatching the lowest-priced notebook you can find.
1)The Lines Will Suck
You’re not the only one that thinks $229 for a notebook is a great deal. You’ll have plenty of company vying for all those ‘limited quantities’ notebooks, and a lot of people don’t exactly have that holiday spirit at 5am. Bring friends to help defend your place in line and be prepared for some extreme rudeness, pushing and shoving. If you really want the best deals plan on skipping Thanksgiving dinner and camping out overnight.
2) Do Your Research Early
If you’re on Notebooks.com, chances are you’re already researching what kind of notebook you want. Black Friday is no time to decide which notebook you want. The stores will be mad houses and you’ll be lucky if an employee will be able to talk to you for more than a few seconds. Go to the store prior to Thanksgiving and test out the notebook you want. In many ...
