Best Buy will feature the Toshiba Satellite L305D for $379 on Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving). As one of Best Buy’s Black Friday doorbusters, the Satellite L305D will be available in extremely limited quantities and you’ll probably have to camp out to get one.
This $379 price is a $270 discount compared to Best Buy’s normal pricing on this configuration of the Satelite 305 (L305D-S5892).
The Toshiba Satellite L305D is a mainstream 15.4-inch notebook. The Toshiba Satellite L305D on sale on Black Friday includes a 160GB drive, 3GB of RAM, DVD burner and AMD Turion processor. It comes with Windows Vista Home Premium, a Web cam and three USB ports.
There will be a minimum of 15 Toshiba L305D notebooks available at each Best Buy store on Black Friday. The Best Buy stores will open at 5am on Black Friday, but vouchers for all doorbuster items will be passed out on a first-come, first served basis starting at 3am.
For an extra $100 you can get the Satellite L305D with 250GB of RAM and 4GB of memory. The $479 Black Friday bundle includes a wired mouse, Trend Micro AntiVirus/AntiSpyware and a protective sleeve. This is ...

When Best Buy unveiled its Blue Label program last month, we were skeptical. The program seemed good enough in concept: Best Buy asked its customers for their most desired laptop features, then worked with Hewlett-Packard and Toshiba to develop laptops that delivered those features. But being jaded ...
AMD’s invited me to its annual Financial Analyst Day in Sunnyvale on Thursday, where I expect the company’s executives to announce its netbook processor strategy.
The company is bringing out all of its heavy hitters to try and impress the financial community and bolster its faltering stock price. AMD’s CEO, COO, CMO and several other execs will give presentations and have lunch with analysts and members of the media.
I’m glad to be going, but the PR agency that invited me wouldn’t share details about what’s being announced. It’s pretty easy to assume they’ll be announcing a netbook processor considering AMD’s CEO said the following on Q3’s earnings call:
Krishna Shankar - JMP Securities
Okay. Thank you. If I can sneak in one more, what is your response to Intel’s Atom processor that clearly is a very viable high growth segment? What is AMD’s product strategy there?
Dirk MeyerWe do have strategies together with our OEMs for pushing our solutions both down into smaller form factors and lower notebook price points and we will detail that next month at the Analyst Conference.
Yes that is a good question and it is a complicated answer over the phone. We will show at ...
We've seen laptops with dual SLI graphics, such as the Alienware Area-51 m17x. We've seen laptops with switchable discrete and integrated graphics, such as the new MacBook Pro. But on Thursday, Toshiba announced two new versions of its Qosmio X305 gaming laptop that incorporate three GPUs: two Nvidia ...

Toshiba’s released its most powerful gaming notebook to date. The Qosmio X305-Q708 features an Intel Core 2 Etreme quad-core processor, dual NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS GPUs with SLi technology, a 128GB solid state drive and a 320GB (7200RPM) secondary hard drive. The Qosmio X305-Q70 is priced at $4,199.99, which is probably out of most notebook buyer’s budget, but we can all drool.
The Qosmio X305-Q708 features Toshiba’s “fiery” Fusion finish with rogue design, which you’ll either love or hate.
The Qosmio X305-Q708 comes with 4GB of RAM, four Harman Kardon speakers, with a built-in subwoofer. This Toshiba notebook has both HDMI and DsplayPort connections to power external displays.
A 1.3MP webcam with Toshiba Face Recognition, 802.11n wireless and bluetooth are also included. The Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q708 ships with Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

Toshiba’s introduced the Portégé A605 notebook, a lightweight consumer notebook that borrows some features from the Portege R500 , but isn’t quite as thin or light. The Portege A605 does have some sweet features, including an aluminum enclosure and 6.9 hours of battery life.
The Portégé A605 weighs in at 3.3 pounds, has a 12.1-inch display and is 1.18 inches thick. Toshiba managed to squeeze an optical drive into the Portégé A605. The ULV processor is one of the reasons the Portégé A605 can deliver a 6.9 hour battery life, which is very good for a consumer notebook.

The base price of the Portégé A605 is $1,399, which includes 3GB of memory, 250GB hard drive, a DVD burner, Windows Vista Ultimate, Web camand an Ultra-low voltage Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Toshiba also included a few professional features like keyboard spill protection, hard drive protection and a fingerprint reader.
If battery life and portablility are a priority to you the Portégé A605 is probably worth a look.

This week is a busy one for Toshiba; along with a trio of Porteges and a boatload of Satellites, the company also introduced two new Tecras. (Can a partridge in a pear tree be far behind?)
The 14.1-inch Tecra M10 and 15.4-inch Tecra A10 are a refresh of ...
